4 squares (1oz each) unsweetened chocolate
1 cup butter (no substitutes)
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped walnuts
½ cup semi sweet chocolate chips
3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
½ butter, melted (no substitutes)
1/3 cup cocoa
¼ cup strong brewed coffee
2 tsp. vanilla
In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate and butter until smooth.
Remove from heat. Add in sugar and mix well. Let stand 5 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each egg. Stir in vanilla.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt. Add to chocolate mixture until combined.
Stir in walnuts and chocolate chips. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan.
Bake at 375 for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool on a wire rack.
Combine frosting ingredients in a bowl. Spread frosting over cooled brownies and allow frosting to harden.
